KUALA LUMPUR: Coating solutions provider Sersol Bhd has recently been contacted by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) regarding an investigation into certain payments made by the company to a third party. These payments were approved and instructed by Sersol’s CEO, Datuk Wira Justin Lim Hwa Tat. The company, which is listed on the ACE Market and based in Johor, also disclosed that Lim has been abroad since February 2023 for undisclosed reasons.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, Sersol stated, “The majority of the board of the company had not received any update from him thus far.” The disclosure comes in response to articles published by local news portals focusmalaysia.my and www.nst.com.my on July 12, 2023, with headlines “Has Sersol head honcho Justin Lim Hwa Tat gone into hiding” and “MACC looking for man with Datuk title to assist investigation.”- Bernama
