Korean actor Cha Seo Won (차서원) is currently facing massive backlash from his own fans soon after he announced that he will be marrying his girlfriend, actress Uhm Hyun Kyung (엄현경).
Earlier this week, reports broke out that Cha and Uhm will be tying the knot following the former’s military discharge next year. It was also revealed that the latter is currently pregnant with their first child! The matter was later confirmed by the two celebs’ agencies.
Despite the joyous news, Cha has been bombarded with hateful and negative comments on social media. For the uninitiated, the 31-year-old appeared as one of the main lead actors in the BL (Boys’ Love) K-drama “Unintentional Love Story”, alongside B1A4’s Gong Chan. In this case, many fans of the drama expressed their frustration with the timing of Cha’s marriage announcement.
These fans are mostly against the actor’s decision to announce his marriage to his co-star in “The Second Husband” shortly after his new drama ‘Unintentional Love Story” was released. Many felt that his marriage announcement is affecting the drama negatively.
Some of the comments left by the fans include:
- “If you wanted to become a father that much, you shouldn’t have acted in a BL drama from the beginning.”
- “Although he’s responsible for his wife and his child, he had no respect for his co-workers.”
- “Please respect the LGBTQ community. This is disrespectful.”
- “Have you considered other colleagues and staff before publicly announcing your marriage at this time? They worked so hard to promote the drama, and it was all ruined by you. You’re so selfish.”
- “Please get a f**cking condom.”
That said, some fans of the “Miss Lee” actor were quick enough to clap back at the haters. To quote some of the commentators, “Some people can’t really separate the real world from the fiction.”
