Many celebrities have fallen victim to death hoaxes, as online trolls and pranksters thrive on creating false rumors for the sake of content. Recently, an online article about singer-actress Farahdhiya’s death circulated online, causing panic among her fans.
For those who are curious, the shocking piece of “news” was first shared on the Facebook page “Isu Terkini Apa Hari Ini” Not too long after that, Farahdhiya – or Farah in short – immediately took to her Instagram to put the fake news to rest.
The “Bertakhta Di Hati” songstress uploaded a screenshot of the fake news report. In her post, she also assured her fans that she was alive and well. “Enough with playing around with people’s deaths. I am doing fine, praise be to God. I’m still breathing as usual,” Farah wrote.
Many netizens took to social media to put the Facebook page on blast for posting fake news about Farah’s death. “Is this social media admin planning to collect more sins? They always come up with toxic postings online,” one netizen wrote. Another commentator suggested Farah sue the individual who spread the false rumour.
At the time of writing, there is no update on whether the Malaysian celeb will actually take legal action against the Facebook user. Hopefully, the public will refrain from spreading fake news about the celebrity’s passing.
