Internet celebrity Feng Timo (冯提莫), best known for her singing performances which have captivated many, left her fans in a lurch when she took an unexpected and unexplained hiatus earlier this year. However, she has since returned with some rather surprising news!
Feng Timo disappeared half a year ago without explanation. But, yesterday (24th July), Feng decided to reveal what had happened to her, and why she’d taken a step back from the singing spotlight. It seems she had been struggling with thyroid cancer!
“Thank you everyone for your concern,” Feng chirped in her social post. “Yes, I did previously get diagnosed with thyroid cancer. Surgery has been completed and it was a success. My body has recovered and my throat has almost recovered (thanks to) my relentless efforts!” Feng added that she had gone through the ordeal alone as she had not told her parents.
However, she felt that was a mistake. “(Because of) this cancer, I want to say this to everyone, especially girls: Don’t lose (heart) and don’t accumulate negative energy inside, communicate more with (your) family and friends. If you encounter cyber violence and rumours, be brave. Speak out and use legal weapons to protect yourself,” she advised.
Feng optimistically promised to protect herself better in the future. “I’m not afraid of illness or cancer. I don’t think it’s a big deal, as long as I am still alive. But when I couldn’t speak for a long time after the operation, I couldn’t sing anyway. This was the most frustrating thing for me. It felt like the sky was falling,” she admitted.
But thanks to her perseverance, Feng has managed to recover her voice. She also uploaded photos of herself after her surgery and the scar she bears from it. Despite looking pale and wane then, Feng Timo seems to have gotten much better, as evident by her more recent photos.
Of course, Feng Timo has not forgotten her fans. “Don’t worry,” she reassured them. “I will sing for you later and we will meet soon. Will you still come and listen? As long as you do, I will keep singing!” Fans too have promised Feng Timo they will be waiting for her and have wished her good health.
