Durian Kimchi YouTuber Ryzal Ibrahim continues to face criticism despite previous controversies. He was previously called out for mocking those in the B40 income group on his social media. Despite the backlash, Ryzal stated that he won’t apologize for the matter.
In another incident, Ryzal received backlash over a “Get Ready With Me” video he shared on Instagram. Ryzal, also known as Nik Rizal Nik Ibrahim, shared a simple trick on how to wear short pants while following the Islamic law.
The content creator from Kelantan posted a video of himself getting ready to go out. He wore a pair of printed shorts with a matching shirt, along with some accessories. To conform to Islamic law, he also wore tights to cover his knees. However, Ryzal’s post received mixed responses from netizens. One netizen questioned Ryzal’s statement about covering men’s intimate parts, or “aurat”.
The user, @amatnabhan, argued, “That’s not accurate. You’re not properly covering your ‘aurat’ because the area between your knees and the bottom hem of the shorts is still tight. There are different rules for wearing tight clothes. If that’s the case, women can claim the same when they wear leggings to cover their ‘aurat’. Only God knows.”
Rather than staying silent, Ryzal responded to the netizen. He asked, “The law only applies to women. You’re comparing men’s ‘aurat’ to women’s. Which sacred book are you referring to?”
The netizen then replied, “You should wear loose clothing to properly cover your ‘aurat’. Men can wear tight outfits that show their body shape because it’s not their intimate parts.”
In addition to the “aurat” issue, many people also made fun of Ryzal’s height in the comments.
