In the era of social media, keyboard warriors have become bold in criticising and judging others based on their looks. In fact, many celebrities have endured a relentless barrage of body shaming, with their appearances dissected and scrutinised by the public and media alike.

This time, netizens have shifted their attention to Emma Maembong. The actress was spotted at the wedding of her sister, Shikin Maembong and her new husband, rapper Cat Farish. Of course, her beloved spouse, Shazli Azhar, was also present during the event.

In the video posted on Shazli’s Instagram, Emma can be seen rocking a piece of black bedazzled dress. As for the accessories, she kept it simple with some minimalist necklace and bracelet. That being said, it looks like some eagle-eyed fans were too focused on her physique, particularly her postpartum belly.

Instead of staying silent, Emma decided to clap back at the internet trolls who body shamed her. The “Kau Yang Terindah” star responded to a fan, “It’s normal since I’m about to enter my third month. But it’s only for a short period of time, I will shed some more weight after this. It’s just that those who condemned me, they still look the same.”

Fans of Emma were also quick to defend her from the netizen. “She just gave birth to her second baby, that’s why it’s normal for her to have the ‘mommy belly’. But still. Emma still looks stunning and cute,” one netizen wrote in the comments. Another chimed in, “It’s okay if she has a belly fat. It’s her tummy.”

If anything, having a “mommy belly” is a sign of bringing life into this world. Those who haven’t experienced child birth ought to reexamined themselves before spewing nonsense.
