Legendary Hong Kong singer Jacky Cheung (张学友) has endeared and impressed many with his dancing and singing. But what fans love best about him is his character. And after his recent act on a flight, we can see why.
Although Jacky has been travelling for his “Jacky Cheung 60+ Concert Tour”, it seems he recently caught a break and was on the way home to Hong Kong to accompany his family. During the flight, many were delighted to see him behaving so politely to the flight crew that it earned him praises from his fans.
On 17th July, one fan who had just finished watching Jacky Cheung’s concert two days before, had been on a flight home when he spotted a familiar figure. It seems the artist had also been slated for the same flight. Excited, the fan had immediately snapped a photo of Jackie, forgetting to ask for a signature instead.
Jackie had been dressed fairly simply for his flight, attempting to remain low-key with a plain suit, a mask and a baseball cap. However, the fan kept their eyes on him, curious to know more about the extraordinary star. Well, as it turns out, they was not disappointed because as Jacky left the plane with his carry-on, he did something which startled the fan.
Instead of walking silently past the flight crew, Jacky made sure to stop and thank them cordially with a bow. The kind and courteous act impressed the fan and after the incident was shared, it impressed many others as well. Several praised him, claiming: “This is (what) a superstar is like, in my mind,” while another pointed out that most Hong Kong stars were usually “down-to-earth“.
Jacky Cheung is certainly embodying the saying of: “Being humble is to be felt, it is not something that you show off.” The act may have been small, but as we well know, even a small act of kindness can speak volumes to others. As you may know, Jacky will be performing six of his shows here next month. Who’s excited?
