It’s official, G-Dragon (지드래곤)’s exclusive contract with YG Entertainment has ended. The news broke out after several fans of the idol discovered some “proof” that the rapper has parted ways with the entertainment agency.

Fans were extremely concerned when the BIGBANG leader’s name wasn’t included in YG Entertainment’s official roster of artistes. In particular, a screenshot from YG’s quarterly report recently gained attention. The list in question shows the current idols and actors who are signed under the label.

As seen in the image, the list of currently active singers under the company include BLACKPINK, AKMU, WINNER, Sechskies, Jinusean, and TREASURE. However, G-Dragon’s name is nowhere to be found in the list, leading to speculations that the idol had left YG Entertainment. For those in the dark, the remaining BIGBANG members – T.O.P, Taeyang and Daesung – had already left the company last year.

Following that, YG has since confirmed that their exclusive contract with G-Dragon has been terminated. However, they clarified that the two sides are currently in discussions for possible collaborations. Their statement reads:

“Our exclusive contract with G-Dragon has expired at this point. However, we are working together to discuss a separate agreement for some of his other activities such as advertisements. We will discuss the addition of a separate contract when he resumes his music activities, and we will provide our full support.”
