Just yesterday (6th June), singer-songwriter Wang Leehom (王力宏)’s ex-wife, Lee Jing Lei (李靚蕾), stirred up her followers with a simple post depicting a date and time. It left many curious if she had more tea to spill, especially after their public and messy divorce.
Well, as it turns out, Lee Jing Lei was announcing her new podcast, focusing on life and growth. Although she didn’t explicitly mention her famous ex-hubby’s name, she did talk about their current on-going lawsuit and how it has affected her life!
Betwixt their publicised fighting and constant accusations, Lee Jing Lei and Wang Leehom have been undergoing a lawsuit over their kids. To make matters worse, the duo have been dealing with a lawsuit in the United States and in Taiwan at the same time. For Jing Lei, this has been the state of her life since the divorce, especially since she took up the role of being a single mom.
Jing Lei shared that she usually spends her time working and looking after the kids in the morning. Then after they fell asleep, she would have to start preparing materials for the court session, which would be held in later in the day. Her schedule would then start again at 5 or 6 in the morning. “It was a tough time and I couldn’t sleep,” Jing Lei added.
However, things changed when she received a letter one morning, saying she had won the US lawsuit. “I was actually very emotional and needed to cry and scream. At that time, my soul had already left my body. I really needed to cry loudly and I needed space to release my emotions,” she shared. But, as she was still looking after her kids, she knew she needed to wait.
“I maintained a normal state, thinking that I had to find time to go to the toilet to cry. Before I knew it, it was already 6 or 7 o’clock in the evening. When they were all asleep, I went to the living room to express myself, but I couldn’t cry,” she continued. But, Jing Lei acknowledged that one needed to coexist with their emotions and live a normal life as the main axis.
Jing Lei explained she remains optimistic about her situation thanks to a book called “Man’s Search for Meaning” by Viktor E. Frankl. The one thing she took away from the book since she was 16 was that no one can decide how she faces things. “In any desperate situation, we can all stay optimistic,” she shared, adding that she would count her blessings in times of crisis and believe in herself.
Well, Lee Jing Lei’s new podcast seems to have gotten off to a good start! We’re sure she’ll have plenty more to share as time goes on. However, it is uncertain if she will talk in detail about Wang Leehom, so only time will tell. In the meantime, we look forward to hearing more from her.
