Jacky Cheung (张学友) will be coming in August to join the concert craze in Malaysia. The Hong Kong singer has graciously gifted his Malaysian fans a total of six shows, which has gotten his fans in a tizzy! Unfortunately, a constant recurring problem has popped up again; ticket scalpers.
“Jacky Cheung 60+ Concert Tour Malaysia” started its ticket sales today (26th May) at 10am. To no one’s surprise, all tickets were sold out by lunch time. And once again, it was not a shock to see more tickets being sold second-hand on e-commerce platforms.
While several fans did share that they managed to nab tickets, many more were left high and dry and unfortunately, desperate. Which of course meant that e-commerce platforms were soon swamped with offers from scalpers who did get tickets.
Tickets offers ranged from a few hundred over the concert’s original VIP price of RM1188 to several thousand more. One offer showed that the netizen had bought 4 VIP tickets around 10 in the morning and was later selling them at RM3003 each. Another offered the same section on a different date for RM8662.
According to China Press, they spotted another seller offering floor tickets roughly 11 times their price for RM12,964. Another seller on the same site was later spotted marking up VIP ticket prices to RM25,555, which is the highest known figure currently.
