It looks like Malaysia will be the backdrop of another international project! After recent news that the next season of “The Amazing Race” will feature our country, a new Hollywood movie set in Kuala Lumpur is now in the works.
It all started when actress Lana Condor shared pictures of her adventures in Kuala Lumpur, including chowing down on some curry laksa and checking out the Petronas Twin Towers. However, the actress wasn’t the only one in the city as her costar actor Ross Butler shared that he was also in town through a picture of him at Batu Caves.
At that time, Malaysian fans weren’t sure why the young stars were in Kuala Lumpur. But we now have an answer – because the two were actually here to film a new movie titled “Worth The Wait”. The two actors shared the news through their Instagram accounts, with both excited about the new project. The two had previously worked together in the “To All The Boys” saga.
According to an article by Deadline, the movie is an indie film that boasts an all-Asian ensemble cast with other actors, including Sung Kang, Andrew Koji, and Elodie Yung, set to appear. The premise is reportedly similar to the cult classic “Love Actually” and is set against the backdrops of Seattle and Kuala Lumpur. Production in Vancouver and Kuala Lumpur had recently wrapped up, but no release date has been announced.
After the news, many fans shared their excitement about the project, saying they are eager to see the film. Many Malaysian fans also belatedly welcomed the cast members to the country, hoping the team had a pleasant stay during filming.
It might still be a while till we get to see the movie, but we’re sure it’ll be ‘worth the wait’!
