It’s only been a day since the passing of beloved Hong Kong-born American singer Coco Lee (李玟) and fans and friends are still mourning her. But, others are already stirring the pot regarding the circumstances of her passing, and needless to say, it’s left many bewildered.
Although Coco Lee’s death was shocking to many, it didn’t take long for people to start speculating about her matters. For one, several were concerned about who would get Coco’s inheritance. But, people are now wondering if Coco’s death was caused by suicide after her sister claimed she died “unnaturally”!
The 48-year-old singer had allegedly been struggling with depression for a few years now, her sisters explained. It had supposedly been what led to her attempting suicide on 2nd July. Reportedly, she had taken a shower after lunch but rushed out of the bathroom with a bleeding wrist. Coco was then brought to the hospital, comatose, before passing away on 5th July.
Photos of Coco and her sister at a friend’s party in June allegedly supported the theory that she had been struggling as her face in the photos was covered with stickers. There were also rumours that she had been fighting cancer in 2022 as well. Her sister, Nancy, later added that something had been off about Coco the week before.
However, Nancy also confirmed that Coco had not passed from a slit wrist, claiming it was an “unnatural death”. As such, Coco’s body is undergoing an autopsy to clarify the cause of death which will take four to six weeks. So, as stated in the recently released her obituary, details of her funeral have yet to be announced.
Netizens are now speculating if Coco did actually commit suicide. Several pointed out that a slit wrist does not necessarily result in death. Others staunchly believe strong-willed Coco would not have committed suicide. A few were simply puzzled by Nancy claiming Coco had died an “unnatural death”.
For now, we can only wait for further news from the family. But we sincerely wish them well as they mourn Coco Lee’s passing and hope they will find peace in her passing.
