Coldplay is not the only international act to do multiple shows in the neighbouring country as American singer Taylor Swift just announced that she’ll be doing 3 shows at the Singapore National Stadium in March. While Malaysian fans were saddened by the news, they’re not entirely surprised.

The possible reason for skipping Malaysia for her “The Era’s Tour” may be the same case as Coldplay’s. Who knows? Regardless, since our country is not listed in the tour dates, this may give Malaysian scalpers the opportunity to resell the concert tickets in bulk.

Yesterday (Tuesday, 20th June), Taylor Swift announced the new international dates for her record-breaking “The Era’s Tour”. Malaysian Swifties were obviously upset that their favourite artist will not be performing on our shores but they may still have the chance to purchase the tickets to see her live in Singapore once tickets are available.

Speaking of tickets, while they’re not on sale yet, it won’t be too surprising if scalpers take this opportunity to buy and resell them to Malaysian fans who wish to see their idol in the neighbouring country. Slots on Viagogo have already been posted with dates and venues confirmed, just waiting for the right moment for customers to fight over the tickets.

Other than that, some suspicious accounts replied to fans’ tweets that they were looking for ticketing services to secure their seats for at least one of the three shows but we all know how that went down last time with the Coldplay tickets. Below are screenshots of possible scalpers, “ticketing services” and websites that we’ve found so far:

While these findings don’t necessarily prove that scalpers will definitely resell the tickets to Malaysian fans, don’t be too surprised if you end up seeing them being promoted on social media. Once again, before you decide to buy tickets from resellers or user ticketing services, consider the dangers of giving away your personal information to unreliable sources.

For now, let’s hope that Taylor can consider adding at least 1 date for Malaysia.
