Celebs often have to walk on eggshells as their actions or words can be used against them. With today’s technology, anything from their past can resurface. Previously, a K-pop idol was accused of homophobia after an old video of him saying something controversial came back to haunt him
Speaking of resurfaced content, a Thai actor has reportedly been getting backlash after netizens posted leaked old messages of him allegedly insulting idol Jackson Wang (王嘉爾/왕잭슨). Here’s what he said in those messages:
Over the weekend, Twitter user @bbmark_00 posted screenshots of leaked private messages allegedly between Thai actor “Build” Jakapan Puttha and an unspecified individual. According to the tweet, it was said that the actor was insulting GOT7 member Jackson Wang by calling him ugly in the messages.
It was reported that this alleged conversation was part of a series of other leaked messages from the “Yuea Phayabat” star that has been circulating online for months. The tweet obviously went viral and caused outrage among Jackson Wang and GOT7 fans who demanded an apology from the Thai celeb, thus the hashtag #BuildJakapanApologizeToJACKSONWANG started trending.
While he hasn’t specifically spoken up about the alleged messages relating to the K-pop idol, Buil Jakapan did, however, tweeted an official apology a week ago regarding the series of leaked messages that have been circulating on the internet, admitting that there is at least some truth to them.
In his statement, he said, “About the private chats in the past and things that I inappropriately said that hurt others, I’m very sorry. I would like to apologise to everyone I mentioned and didn’t mention. I apologised and will take responsibility for what I did to the people I referred to. I’m not like that anymore. From now on I’ll be careful with my words so I won’t upset others again.”
The statement was posted after Build was also accused of insulting and threatening his former co-stars Apo Nattawin Wattanagitiphat and Bible Wichapas Sumettikul. The latter reportedly unfollowed the BL (Boys Love) actor on Instagram after the Jackson Wang messages went viral as he’s known to be a fan of both the singer and GOT7.
At the time of writing, Jackson Wang has yet to respond to the alleged leaked messages but we would assume he won’t bother commenting as he’s currently busy with his “MAGIC MAN” world tour. Do you believe these messages are real? Was Build out of line with his past words and actions?
