A number of local fans who attended the Malaysian singing competition “Big Stage 2023” concert in Shah Alam have landed in hot water this week after videos of them dancing suggestively to a dangdut song went viral on TikTok.

The videos have garnered significant backlash from netizens, particularly after they saw a local woman clad in a hijab shaking her booty with several other concertgoers. For those who are curious, the clips were uploaded by a male TikToker, known as @iam_erul1, who was also present at the concert.

In the viral clip, the woman in the pink hijab was spotted walking down the stairs, as she started joining another audience member vibing to Mas Idayu’s song “Senggol Senggolan, Cubit Cubitan.” The duo can be seen dancing cheekily to the classic tune, ignoring the other people who were at the area. In another footage, the lady was also seen jumping on the male dancer’s back!

This also caught the attention of Ariz Ramli, or better known among fans as Caprice. The rapper took to his Instagram to share his reaction to the viral video. “First of all, no one is perfect. There are times when we focus on our work, worship God, and at times, we have time to enjoy ourselves. If you really want to enjoy yourself, you still need to know your place,” he said in his video. In addition, Caprice also advised the girl to repent.

In another video posted on his socials, Caprice also taught his followers how to dance in a halal way. Watch:

What’s interesting is that the hijab woman received more flak, while the men who were dancing just as provocatively hardly got reprimanded. Sexist much?
