Japan, the land of the rising sun, is one of the most popular places to travel especially during Spring when tourists get to see the Sakura trees in full bloom. If you’re not much of a nature kind of person then Tokyo is, of course, the place to explore. Whether it’s from Animes or movies, you’ve seen that the city has a lot to offer to not just tourists but locals as well.

If you’re still saving some money for the actual trip, then how about making your way to the next best thing which is Tokyo Town at Pavilion Bukit Jalil? The new precinct welcomes shoppers to celebrate all things Japanese from food, retail, arts, and culture. Here’s all you can expect from the newly launched precinct:

    1. Traditional Japanese Designs And Layouts

Be immediately transported to the land of the rising sun with two larger-than-life artistic Sumo Sculptures greeting shoppers at the Torii Gate entrance of Tokyo Town. You’d definitely get the feel of being in Tokyo as the design and layouts truly embodied the sense of the city.

Shoppers will notice the grand floating temple roof at the entrance as well which was inspired and designed with ‘kirizuma-zukuri’ or gable roof style – the basic architectural style in ancient Japan. Be amazed as you gaze upon the giant Wagasa (Japanese umbrella) designed by renowned Japanese artist Kotaro Nishibori. Beautiful Kimonos were also on display at the entrance.

Of course, it wouldn’t be Japan without the Sakura trees. Not only are they good for your Instagram Feed, but shoppers will have the opportunity to hang up their Tanabata wishes by tying them with the ribbons on the branches of the trees. May good fortune come to us all!

    2. Retail Offerings & Exhibitions

The retail shops are just like the ones you’d see at Tokyo Street in Pavilion KL. Though not as many, they’re much bigger and spacious at the Bukit Jalil outlet. Shoppers will find all sorts of things from Nakamise lots to specialty stores. There’s certainly something for everyone among the rich selection of Japanese food, retail, arts, and culture.

Other than the retail shops, one of the highlights of Tokyo Town is the ‘Japan Moment by Japanese Creators’ exhibition by Nippon Design School. Immerse yourself in the rich arts and culture of Japan with this specialty exhibition. Want to learn origami? Be sure to check out the exquisite origami exhibition pieces by the Origami Academy. Trust us when we say your minds will be blown when you find out the amount of paper used to make a dragon.

    3. Opening Festivities!

In celebration of its launch, Tokyo Town will have an exciting line-up of festivities, giveaways, opening specials, and more from now until 31st October! Experience traditional Japanese dance performances, origami workshops, gaming and board game sessions, Cosplayer meet & greet, Japanese shrine blessing culture introduction, and Omamori Origami (Lucky Charms) Giveaways!

    4. Promotions
