Yesterday (Thursday, 1st December), MYAirline, Malaysia’s newest low-cost airline, made its inaugural flight from Kuala Lumpur to Kuching.
For those in the dark, MYAirline was founded in 2021. The company was also granted its initial air service license (ASL) from the Malaysian Aviation Commission (Mavcom) earlier in November.
Following that, a Facebook user named Abd Razak Abd Hamid shared his experience of boarding the flight on the FB group “Backpackers Buddies Malaysia”. In his post, he revealed that the check-in and boarding process is the same as any other flight. That said, he pointed out the situation was a bit chaotic, presumably due to the fact that it was the airline’s first day of service.
Additionally, the netizen went on to reveal his honest take on the other facilities and services provided by the airline. He wrote, “The airplane is obviously still new. It has that particular scent. The seats are not so comfortable. They’re so hard, I had back pain. The legroom is in accordance with the standards of low-cost airlines but I’m not sure how one will endure this if it’s a long-distance flight.”
In regards to MYAirline’s cabin crew, Abd Razak gave a rather critical remark, particularly about their appearance. He commented, “All of them were female. In all honesty, they looked very untidy. It’s like they don’t really prioritise their appearance. I know we’re currently experiencing flood season but their pants looked too short. Their hair in particular looked too messy.”
