“Stranger Things” fans and geeks listen up! It’s time to dress up in your nostalgic outfits and journey to the Upside Down. In conjunction with the premiere of “Stranger Things” season 4, Netflix is blurring the line between reality and fiction by bringing the hit series experience to the heart of the capital.

Regardless whether you’re all caught up with the “Stranger Things” seasons, these new attractions and installations around Kuala Lumpur are not to be missed. Prepare yourselves cause the dark forces within the Upside Down has taken over KL Tower and Kwai Chai Hong.

    Look up at KL Tower

Upon sundown, the iconic KL Tower will serve as a canvas for the Upside Down where scenes from season 3 and 4 will be projected unto the building. As you enter the lawn, a “Stranger Things 4” sign with vibrant neon lights awaits.

Walk past it and you’ll see the creepy Creel House with various monstrosities. Try and spot Vecna — the big bad of Season 4 — as well as the Mind Flayer and Demogorgon. Be sure to snap away as photo opportunities are aplenty, including one with the house’s ominous grandfather clock.

P/s: The gateway to the Upside Down at KL Tower is open to the public from now ‘til 29th May, with the projection show set to play in 30-minute intervals between 8pm and 12am.

Enter the Upside Down at Petaling Street

Not far away at Kwai Chai Hong, visitors can also take it the whole “Stranger Things” experience. Malacca-born artist Amir Andhar has created his mural installation that is inspired by key moments from previous seasons.

At nightfall, the Upside Down will come to life as the mirror dimension’s monsters – the Demogorgon, Mind Flayer, and Vecna – step into the light. Even the heritage alley of Kwai Chai Hong has been replaced by the Byers’ iconic alphabet Christmas lights. The highlight is probably the Rift opening in a deep corner of the laneway.

Come and check out the impressive mural and experience at Kwai Chai Hong from now until 12th June between 9am and 12am daily.
