Cyberview Sdn Bhd (Cyberview), the Cyberjaya Tech Hub Developer, and Les’Copaque Production have announced that they have agreed to further discuss the development potential of an Upin & Ipin Theme Park attraction in Cyberjaya. Hj Burhanuddin Md Radzi, the producer of the “Upin & Ipin” children’s animation series, revealed his ambition to establish an Upin & Ipin Interactive Theme Park in Malaysia not too long ago, with plans to build in Johor Bahru originally.

According to the producer’s Facebook post, a memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was also signed by both sides to allow them to assess the development of the interactive theme park, which will be the first of its kind in the area. However, there is still the task of convincing Cyberview that they are capable of bringing the theme park to life.

Given the city’s strategic location and long-standing support for the animation industry and content development among local players, Cyberjaya is an excellent candidate for the theme park’s location. Cyberview revealed a new concept in 2019 that is centred by three tech clutters, including a cluster dedicated to digital creative, reaffirming Cyberjaya’s commitment to the creative industry.

A land tract of roughly 30 acres in Cyberjaya’s South Zone has been identified as a suitable theme park location. The proposed venture would contain exclusive IPs from Les’Copaque, including “Upin & Ipin”, the studio’s award-winning animation icons, as well as other popular IPs like “Puteri” and “Pada Zaman Dahulu”, set against a uniquely traditional backdrop.

The park will provide immersive and experimental attractions to both local and foreign visitors through thematically planned interactive material such as ‘Rumah Opah’ in an interactive studio, an Upin & Ipin interactive park, and an outdoor fun park.

A Mystical Tunnel, Pada Zaman Dahulu Green House, and an Outdoor Maze Garden, as well as a 4D interactive theatre and a Waron Muthu-themed food court, are all features to look forward to. Upin & Ipin fans and netizens in general appear to approve of the proposal and are looking forward to the theme park’s construction.

Many people, however, hope that this theme park project succeeds and that it does not suffer the same fate as Perak’s MAPS theme park.
