Shoppers and tenants at BMC Mall in Bandar Mahkota Cheras, were left shocked after the mall’s ceiling suddenly collapsed earlier today. Reports say that the incident at the three-storey mall occurred earlier today, around noon.
According to onlookers and shoppers, the ceiling in the centre court part of the mall suddenly collapsed but there were no casualties nor injuries reported as no individuals were in the vicinity during the drop. However, it was reported that the collapsed ceiling had caused damage to three shops.
A spokesperson from the fire department said they had received a call about the incident at around noon, and six officers were immediately dispatched to the location. Investigation for what caused the ceiling’s collapse is ongoing, but BMC Mall has yet to make a statement on the incident. As of now, the affected area is closed to all shoppers and tenants.
