SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 4 (Xinhua) — Two individuals died after a small airplane crashed into a house in Newberg, Oregon, as confirmed by officials.
According to Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue, eyewitnesses observed the plane descending in a spiral motion and eventually hitting the ground near North Cedar Street, approximately 30 kilometers southwest of Portland.
Upon arrival, firefighters discovered two fatalities within the aircraft. Additionally, they successfully rescued another individual who sustained severe injuries and transported them to a hospital.
As the plane crashed, it pierced through the roof of a residential building. Fortunately, the occupants were able to evacuate without any harm, and there were no casualties among onlookers, stated Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue.
The Newberg-Dundee Police Department, the Federal Aviation Administration, and the National Transportation Safety Board are collectively investigating the incident in order to determine its cause, according to officials.
