    Indian rescuers have terminated the search for survivors of a landslide that occurred in the western state of Maharashtra on Thursday. The landslide claimed the lives of at least 27 people, while more than 50 individuals are still missing, according to an official from the National Disaster Response Force.

    The tragic incident took place in the mountain village of Irshalwadi, situated approximately 60 km (37 miles) from Mumbai. The landslide resulted in the destruction of numerous houses. It is estimated that the village had a population of at least 225 people, with over 80 managing to escape the catastrophe.

    This devastating occurrence has left a significant impact on the community and surrounding areas. The efforts to find survivors have concluded, closing the operation, as stated by S.B. Singh from the National Disaster Response Force. The rescuers have been forced to accept that there are no additional survivors to be found. The focus will now shift towards giving closure to the families affected by the landslide and commencing the process of recovery and rehabilitation.
