Three men have been detained in connection with multiple motorcycle thefts and house break-ins in Ampang and Kuala Lumpur. Ampang Jaya OCPD Assistant Commissioner Mohd Azam Ismail announced on Thursday (Aug 3) that the arrests were made following an operation conducted on Tuesday (Aug 1).
The stolen motorcycle case that led to their arrest involved a delivery rider whose motorcycle was reported stolen near his home in Jalan Pandan Indah on July 25. Two locals and a Myanmar national were apprehended in Rawang, Seremban, and Cheras during the operation.
One of the suspects, who is wanted for an ongoing case, has a criminal record of 11 crimes. According to ACP Mohd Azam, investigations revealed that the suspects were actively involved in motorcycle thefts and house break-ins in Ampang and Kuala Lumpur.
The police managed to recover the frame of a stolen motorcycle, as well as three other motorcycles reported stolen in the area. Additionally, several items including five wristwatches, jewelry, motorcycle parts, and three mobile phones were seized during the operation.
The suspects are currently remanded until Saturday (Aug 5) as authorities continue their investigations.
