In Kuala Lumpur, Datuk R. Ramanan, the Deputy Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister and Sungai Buloh MP, has announced that a total of 5,000 packets of bubur lambuk will be distributed in Ramadan bazaars, mosques, and surau around the Sungai Buloh parliamentary constituency throughout the holy month. This initiative aims to enhance the Ramadan atmosphere in the constituency, as bubur lambuk has become a tradition and a special treat during the breaking of fast.
Ramanan personally distributed 500 packets of bubur lambuk at the Saujana Utama Ramadan Bazaar and another 250 packets in mosques and surau in the area. He shared that the act of distribution allowed him to connect with the people of Sungai Buloh in a spirit of unity and togetherness, further fostering community ties.
Additionally, Ramanan had the chance to interact with traders and visitors during the distribution and provided “duit Raya” to children. Apart from the distribution of bubur lambuk, the Sungai Buloh Parliamentary Service Centre has organized various programs for the local Muslim community during Ramadan, including breaking-of-fast sessions with asnaf, activities involving youth and orphans, and zakat distribution programs.
Ramanan stated that he will continue to donate his salary as an elected representative to mosques in his constituency, a commitment he has upheld since being elected as an MP and intends to continue throughout his tenure. These efforts reflect his dedication to serving the community and supporting local initiatives during the holy month.
