    518 election-related police reports lodged in Selangor: IGP

    SHAH ALAM: According to Datuk Seri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay, a total of 518 police reports have been lodged in Selangor in connection with the state elections so far. The Deputy Inspector-General of Police stated that 20 investigation papers (IPs) have been opened as well.

    He also mentioned that there have been no reports of hate speech involving race, religion, and royalty (3R) in Selangor during the elections. Ayob Khan expressed hope that this trend will continue until the end of the state elections. These statements were made during a press conference held at the Selangor police headquarters on Tuesday (Aug 8).

    Earlier, Ayob Khan supervised the early voting process for individuals within the Selangor police contingent. During this time, he was accompanied by Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan and Deputy Comm Datuk S. Sasikala Devi.

    Ayob Khan provided information on the early voting in the state, stating that a total of 68 voting centers and 93 voting streams are involved. He mentioned that 18,557 police officers and personnel, along with 8,600 Armed Forces’ personnel and officers, are participating in early voting at the Selangor police contingent. In total, 26,557 personnel are set to cast their early vote.

    Ayob Khan expressed confidence in the high voter turnout for early voting, citing the example of the last general election where 97% of security forces personnel and officers participated.
