A woman who went on a fishing trip had an unexpected catch. Instead of catching fish, she reeled in a massive python that measured about 7 meters in length and weighed approximately 80 kilograms. The incident occurred when the woman, who resides in Kampung Sungai Tembak in Baling, placed nets in the river with the hopes of catching some fish on September 28th.
Upon checking her nets the following day, the woman was shocked to discover the large reptile entangled within them. Disturbed by the unexpected find, she reached out to the Baling Civil Defence Force district officer, Lieutenant (PA) Mohd Faizol Aziz, for assistance around 11 am on September 29th.
A team from the Civil Defence Force arrived at the location approximately 30 minutes after receiving the woman’s call. Equipped with specialized equipment, they worked to retrieve the snake from the nets.
Lieutenant (PA) Mohd Faizol Aziz suggested that the recent rainy season in the district may have prompted the snake to venture out of its natural habitat.
