KUANTAN: Pahang Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail (pic) stated that there is no evidence to support the allegations made by a blogger about Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s visit to Cameron Highlands. Wan Rosdy mentioned that the Deputy Prime Minister visited the Sungai Ruil Orang Asli village on Saturday (January 6) to assess the situation following a landslide in October.
As a result of the visit, important decisions were made that benefit the people. This was followed by the Umno president’s grassroots tour programme with the Cameron Highlands Umno division, which was attended by Umno leaders at the state and division levels,” Wan Rosdy said in a statement on Monday (Jan 8).
He refuted the accusation made by blogger Raja Petra that the Umno president had instructed all Barisan Nasional MPs to gather in Cameron Highlands to express their support for the Prime Minister, calling it incorrect and defamatory. According to Wan Rosdy, these defamatory accusations are only made to sensationalise the Dubai Move issue and were made by a veteran blogger who is living abroad out of fear of legal action being taken against him for the slander he makes almost every day.
He urged Malaysians not to believe such baseless defamation, stating that Umno will continue to uphold the decree of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, who used his authority to propose the establishment of a unity government.
Wan Rosdy emphasized that the focus and attention of the Umno party will be on the country and its people, rather than playing politics to its detriment. Wan Rosdy holds the position of Umno vice president.
