ALGIERS, July 10 (Xinhua) — Algeria’s state-owned energy company Sonatrach has achieved a significant milestone in its export of hydrocarbons, with a total value of 21 billion U.S. dollars from January to May. This demonstrates the company’s strong performance in the global energy market.
According to a recently released report by Sonatrach, the company has successfully sold 68 million tonnes of oil equivalent during the first five months of this year, indicating a 2 percent year-on-year increase. This impressive growth showcases Sonatrach’s commitment to meeting the rising demand for energy.
During the same period last year, Sonatrach exported 37 million tonnes of oil equivalent. However, this year’s figures show a significant improvement with 38 million tonnes of oil equivalent exported. This increase is a testament to Sonatrach’s continuous efforts to enhance its production and supply capabilities.
The report also highlights Sonatrach’s remarkable export revenue, which reached an impressive 60 billion U.S. dollars in 2022. This remarkable achievement further solidifies Sonatrach’s position as a leading player in the energy sector.
