In a speech announcing the PKR candidates for the upcoming state polls in Selangor, Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, the caretaker mentri besar of Selangor, highlighted the significance of the state for Pakatan Harapan. He stated that Selangor was not only the starting point for the coalition’s achievements but also for its downfall from federal power. Amirudin credited Pakatan’s administration of the state since 2008 for the coalition’s successes at the federal level, their installation of PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as the 10th prime minister, and their achievements in various other states.
Expressing his gratitude to Pakatan’s stalwarts for realizing a dream, Amirudin acknowledged the challenging journey filled with trials and tribulations that they had endured.
Later on, Anwar reaffirmed in his speech that Amirudin would continue to serve as the Selangor mentri besar after the elections. Anwar commended Amirudin for his hands-on approach, stating that he is well-known for connecting with the people by going down to the ground and mingling with the masses.
