PKR wants Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun to be retained as the Negeri Sembilan Mentri Besar if the Pakatan Harapan-Barisan Nasional alliance wins the state elections next month, according to PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
Anwar praised Aminuddin’s performance in leading Negeri Sembilan and his efforts in helping the people with various programmes. He stated that Aminuddin has created a leadership that is accessible and easy to approach.
Anwar mentioned that talks with other partners and Umno president and Barisan Nasional chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi are still ongoing to finalize the position of Mentri Besar in Negeri Sembilan.
During an event in Section 7, Shah Alam, Anwar officially announced PKR candidates contesting in the state polls next month. He revealed that Aminuddin will defend his Sikamat seat in the elections.
Anwar also shared that Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari will defend the Sungai Tua seat in the state of Selangor. He previously announced that Amirudin would remain as the Mentri Besar if the Pakatan-Barisan alliance wins Selangor in the polls.
To support DAP’s decision, Anwar welcomed the retention of Chow Kon Yeow as the Penang Chief Minister. PKR believes that Chow has done an excellent job in developing the state and is known for his approachable nature, even with the Malays.
Based on reports received, Anwar expressed confidence that the PH-BN alliance can win Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, and Penang in the upcoming polls. However, he emphasized the need for hard work from the party machinery to achieve this.
PKR will be contesting a total of 58 seats in the six state elections, with 20 seats in Selangor, six in Negeri Sembilan, 13 in Penang, 10 in Kedah, six in Kelantan, and three in Terengganu.
The full list of PKR candidates includes various constituencies across the states of Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Penang, Kedah, Kelantan, and Terengganu.
