MEXICO CITY: Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak shares that he had a minor stroke while in Mexico City for a business conference. Wozniak informed ABC News that he felt dizzy on Wednesday morning, followed by vertigo. He then went to the hospital where an MRI confirmed he had a “minor but real stroke”.

Wozniak, 73, was supposed to speak at the World Business Forum, a two-day event in Mexico City featuring prominent management figures including Carly Fiorina and Muhammad Yunus. He was scheduled as the closing speaker for the conference on Wednesday afternoon.

Wozniak was released from the hospital on Thursday and returned to his home in Los Gatos, California. He revealed to the New York Times that he was back home and feeling good.

After leaving Apple in 1985, Wozniak has pursued various interests but has remained a strong supporter of the company and technology in general. He has also ventured into other areas such as competing on Dancing With The Stars in 2009 and serving as a judge on an online video show called Unicorn Hunters which evaluates startup ideas.

While being involved in other startups, Wozniak has also worked to preserve the legacy of his longtime friend Steve Jobs, who passed away in 2011 due to cancer. – AP
