PRAGUE, Sept. 1 (Xinhua) — The Czech capital hosted the opening of a film festival featuring ASEAN (the Association of Southeast Asian Nations) countries along with China, Japan, and South Korea (ASEAN+3) on Friday.
During the opening ceremony, the Municipal Library of Prague screened eight short films from five ASEAN nations – Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, and Vietnam – as well as China, Japan, and South Korea.
One of the films presented by China was “The Beginning of Autumn,” a unique animated short film inspired by Chinese ink painting.
Feng Biao, the Chinese Ambassador to the Czech Republic, expressed his satisfaction with the festival, considering it a “remarkable outcome” resulting from the partnership between the embassies of ASEAN countries, China, Japan, and South Korea in the Czech Republic.
The film festival is scheduled to run until September 9th, featuring a selection of eight films from the participating countries, with one film being screened each night. Among them, the Chinese sci-fi blockbuster “The Wandering Earth II” will be showcased on September 6th.
