(Reuters) – Hurdler Ronald Levy has received notification from the Jamaica Anti-Doping Commission stating that he tested positive for a banned substance during an out-of-competition test conducted last month. The Olympic bronze medalist, who finished third in the 110 metres hurdles in the Tokyo Games, took to Instagram to state that he was unaware of any rule violation and is awaiting the results of his “B-sample” test.

Levy, who triumphed with gold at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, expressed disbelief at the current situation. He emphasized that he has always maintained the utmost integrity in the sport he deeply loves, and would never attempt to gain an unfair advantage. Levy added that he is determined to defend his integrity throughout this process.

The news was reported by Amy Tennery in New York and edited by Toby Davis.
