PETALING JAYA: The infant who was hospitalized after his mother mistakenly fed him milk laced with syabu has been released from the hospital, according to Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Shahrulnizam Jaa’far @ Ismail.

Upon inquiry, he mentioned that the one year and four-month-old child was discharged on Saturday (Feb 24) from Kajang Hospital.

“Following his recovery, he was discharged from Kajang Hospital. The baby is currently under the care of his maternal grandmother,” he stated, noting that the Welfare Department had not intervened at that point.

When questioned about the parents who were apprehended after mistakenly adding liquid methamphetamine to their infant’s formula milk while under the influence of drugs, ACP Shahrulnizam explained that no drugs were found during their arrests as they had already been discarded.

The couple was taken into custody on Tuesday (Feb 20) in Taman Medan after the wife mistakenly mixed liquid syabu into a milk bottle.

Both individuals tested positive for drugs following their arrest, with the man having prior drug-related offenses.
