KUALA LUMPUR: Police have swiftly solved a robbery case that took place within 48 hours, thanks to CCTV footage capturing the suspect in the act. Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Azam Ismail stated on Thursday (Oct 19) that the incident occurred on Monday (Oct 16) when the victim, an assistant to a bridal make-up artist, had left his bags at a bridal boutique in a shopping mall. The stolen items were estimated to be worth about RM2,000. CCTV recordings displayed an individual taking the bags from the boutique.
On Wednesday (Oct 18), authorities successfully located and apprehended the 26-year-old suspect in Desa Lembah Permai Ampang. ACP Mohd Azam revealed, “We also seized the victim’s bags, clothes, two car remotes, and a set of car keys, which we believe belong to the complainant.” He added that the suspect tested positive for drugs and has been detained until Sunday (Oct 22).
