BATU CAVES: A couple and their two children were rushed to the hospital for smoke inhalation after a late-night house fire on Thursday (July 13).

The Selangor Fire and Rescue Department received a distress call about the incident at approximately 11:55 pm on Thursday, according to director Wan Md Razali Wan Ismail.

Upon receiving the call, they dispatched two fire engines, a water tanker, two emergency medical rescue service vehicles, and 20 personnel to the scene, arriving at Jalan SE Utama, Taman Samudera around 12:21 am. They discovered that a three-story terrace house was engulfed in flames, and two children and their parents were in need of rescue due to smoke inhalation.

Medical personnel at the scene administered first aid to the victims who suffered from smoke inhalation, while a girl among the children was immediately transported to Selayang Hospital in an unconscious state.

The other three victims are now in stable condition, said Wan Md Razali. The cause of the fire is currently being investigated.

During the rescue operations, fireman Alias Dollah also suffered from smoke inhalation and was promptly taken to Selayang Hospital for treatment.
