Following the water surge tragedy at Sungai Kenjur, near Kampung Poh Bidor, the bodies of three siblings have been safely buried in a single grave at around 6.20pm at the Pekan Bidor Muslim Cemetery on Thursday (Feb 8).
The three siblings, Hanum Marissa Azam, 2, Hafif Muhayat Azam, 4 and Hanna Mikayla Azam, 7, were laid to rest next to the grave of their mother, Aszura Bani, 37, who also tragically lost her life during the incident.
Prior to their burial, funeral prayers were conducted at the Al-Muhtadin Bidor Mosque with over 50 congregants, including family members, in attendance.
The mother, Aszura, who worked as a fruit trader at the Tapah Rest and Service Stop (southbound), was buried at 12.20 pm.
The tragic event occurred when six family members and a domestic helper were caught in a water surge phenomenon while having a picnic at Sungai Kenjur on Wednesday around 4pm.
Following the incident, Aszura’s body was discovered later that evening, followed by Hafif’s body at 9.45 pm, while the bodies of Hanna Mikayla and Hanum Marissa were found at around 9 am on Thursday.
Three survivors from the tragic event were Aszura’s sister, Aslinda Bani, 38, her son Muhammad Adam Mukhris Rozi, 11, and the domestic helper. – Bernama
