MELAKA: A sexual escapade by two brothers from Pahang to engage foreign sex workers at a hotel in Taman Melaka Raya here was cut short by officers from the state Immigration Department during a raid.

The brothers, aged 30 and 31 years, claimed they paid RM250 each for the services when questioned by the officers during the raid on Wednesday night (July 31).

The two also told the officers they had no chance to engage the services as the officers came knocking on their doors, shortly after entering the separate rooms on the same floor during the 9.30pm raid.

They also claimed they had engaged the services through online chats using the WeChat platform while holidaying here before appointments were consecutively fixed by the foreign women at the same hotel.

Melaka Immigration Department director Anirwan Fauzee Mohd Aini said the raid at the hotel was part of three ongoing operations launched by the department targeting undocumented migrants in Melaka Tengah and Jasin districts.

“We detained 13 foreigners, including one Pakistani and one Indian national at a barber shop in Jasin and 11 others at three budget hotels in Melaka Raya.

“Nine women were also arrested, three each from Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam who were suspected of involvement in vice activities,” he said on Thursday (Aug 1).

He added also those detained were all sent to the Machap Umboo Immigration Detention Camp here for further action under the Immigration Act 1959/63 (Act 155) for not having valid permits and Regulation 39(b) of the Immigration Regulations 1963 for violating work permits or other conditions.
