KUALA LUMPUR: Budget 2025 proves that the Indian community has not been marginalised, said Deputy Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Datuk Seri R. Ramanan (pic).
He said this was proven by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s announcement of an allocation of RM130mil for the implementation of various programmes, including business funding for the Indian community.
“We can see the Prime Minister’s commitment to treating all races equally… so, there’s no issue of marginalising any community.
“The assistance and allocations provided are not specifically for any race but for all Malaysians. For example, specific allocations for the education sector through Tamil and Chinese national-type schools and national schools,” he said when met in Parliament after the tabling of Budget 2025 here on Friday (Oct 18).
He said that the Madani Government had previously approved socioeconomic development initiatives for the Indian community, including RM100mil for the Malaysian Indian Transformation Unit (Mitra) and RM30mil under the Indian Community Entrepreneur Development Scheme (Spumi). – Bernama
