KUALA LUMPUR: Efforts are being made to tackle the issue of bullying in schools and the government’s actions to enhance the capabilities of the police in dealing with cybercrime will be discussed in Parliament on Wednesday (Nov 1).

According to the Order Paper on the Parliament website, Datuk Muhammad Bakhtiar Wan Chik (PH-Balik Pulau) will raise questions about the increasing prevalence of bullying in schools to the Education Minister during the question and answer session.

During the same session, Muhammad Ismi Mat Taib (PN-Parit) will question the Home Minister on the steps taken by the government to strengthen the police force’s equipment and capabilities in keeping up with the latest trends in cybercrime.

In addition, Datuk Seri Hasni Mohammad (BN-Simpang Renggam) will inquire about the government’s initiatives to promote Islamic Green Finance and support the funding required for the country to achieve the carbon neutral agenda by 2050 and the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR).

Datuk Siti Zailah Mohd Yusoff (PN-Rantau Panjang) will direct a question to the Women, Family, and Community Development Minister regarding the number of children under the care of the Children’s Institution of the Social Welfare Department (JKM) who do not possess identification documents.

After this session, the Dewan Rakyat will continue with the policy-level winding-up debate on the Supply Bill 2024 from several ministries.

This winding-up session will last for four days, commencing on Monday, followed by a 12-day debate on the Bill at the committee level starting on Nov 6.

The current Parliament sitting will be in session for a total of 32 days, spanning from Oct 9 to Nov 30. – Bernama
