KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Umno chairman Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin has rejected claims that the party was divided after some of its assemblymen met with Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.
Bung dismissed allegations that the state was split into two groups and attributed the rumors to individuals with self-serving political motives attempting to create a negative perception and disrupt unity within Sabah Umno.
He emphasized that assemblymen had the right to meet with the Chief Minister and discuss the issues faced by the people in their respective constituencies.
Bung addressed a circulating photo on social media showing the party’s Usukan assemblyman, Datuk Seri Mohd Salleh Tun Said, and at least four other assemblymen meeting with Hajiji at his residence last weekend.
Salleh and the other assemblymen had not disclosed the purpose of their meeting with Hajiji, leading to speculations.
