PETALING JAYA: PAS has stated that celebrating the country’s racial and cultural diversity will contribute to its prosperity. In his Chinese New Year message, party president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang urged all Malaysians to work towards a nation where all communities coexist in peace and harmony. He emphasized that the diversity of races and ethnicities is a reflection of Allah’s greatness and is an integral part of the human experience.
He also highlighted the guiding principles of PAS, stating that Islam guarantees justice, peace, and well-being for all races and religions in Malaysia. Abdul Hadi mentioned that PAS, as demonstrated in its governance in Kelantan, Terengganu, Kedah, and Perlis, has upheld the concept of no compulsion in religion even when Islam is in full authority. He pointed out that religious freedom for other faiths is respected, places of worship are not demolished, and economic activities are not restricted.
Abdul Hadi expressed his hope for the continuous strengthening and fortification of unity amongst the races in Malaysia as the country celebrates Chinese New Year. Additionally, he extended well wishes to those returning to their hometowns, wishing them a safe journey.
