The presidency announced that Succes Masra, a Chadian opposition leader, has been named as the prime minister of the transitional government, according to Reuters.
At the end of October, the transitional government made a decision to permit Masra and other individuals who had fled the central African country to return.
Following a crackdown on protests in the capital city of N’Djamena on October 20, 2022, Masra left Chad, where dozens were killed and hundreds were injured due to the actions of the security forces.
After his departure, an international arrest warrant was issued against Masra by the government.
