On January 21, Jerusalem reported that China maintained its position as the largest source of commodity imports for Israel for the fourth year in a row in 2023, according to data released by Israel’s Central Bureau of Statistics.
Last year, Israeli imports from China amounted to $11.2 billion, with the primary imports being machinery, electrical and electronic equipment, textiles, electric cars, chemicals, rubber, and plastics.
The United States was Israel’s second-largest source of imports, providing commodities worth $9.06 billion in 2023. Germany, Switzerland, and Turkey followed on the list.
Israel’s highest volume of exports in 2023 went to the United States, totaling $17.58 billion, followed by China with $3.44 billion, and Ireland with $3.42 billion. The Netherlands, India, and Germany were next on the list.
In 2023, Israel’s exports to Morocco saw a significant year-on-year increase of 162% to reach $100.5 million after an economic and trade cooperation agreement was signed between the two countries in 2022.
Israel’s exports to Morocco primarily include explosives, chemicals, metals, plastics, and optical and medical equipment.
