According to Port Dickson OCPD Supt Aidi Sham Mohamed, the police have not yet received any report of a station chief in the area harassing a woman and sending lewd messages to her. He stated that preliminary investigations have shown that the accusations, which became viral on social media, are baseless.
Supt Aidi Sham mentioned that the allegations started spreading on Dec 25 in a chat group, claiming that the station chief had harassed a woman and sent lewd messages to her. He emphasized that the initial probe has indicated that these allegations were without merit and were likely made to tarnish the reputation of the station chief and the police force. This statement was made on Wednesday (Dec 27).
He added that the police would conduct an internal investigation, and if there is evidence of any misconduct, disciplinary action will be taken. Supt Aidi Sham also advised the public against sharing these allegations, as they could face legal action under the Penal Code and the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.
