PONTIAN: Comments on issues linked to the safety of Malaysia Airlines should be accepted in a positive manner, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.
The MCA president said he has been receiving public complaints about the matter, adding that this shows that many are affected by it.
“When I spoke up about it a few days ago, it was not intended to create panic as claimed by Transport Minister Anthony Loke. When we speak up, there is a basis to it. We are not creating something out of nothing, it is clear that the rakyat is affected.
“Listen (to the people’s) comments and take it well, there is truth in it,” said the former transport minister when asked to comment on the matter.
Dr Wee said this after launching the Johor MCA Youth and Wanita wings convention here on Sunday (Sept 1).
He added that the hope is for a solution and not to point fingers as safety is of the utmost importance.
On Tuesday (Aug 27), Dr Wee said priority must be placed on reassuring Malaysians and regaining their confidence in the national airline’s safety following a spate of incidents involving its aircraft from 2023 to this year.
