KUALA LUMPUR: An event decorator was detained and drugs worth RM80,000 were seized by the police here on Thursday (July 11).
Cheras OCPD Asst Comm Ravindar Singh Sarban Singh said the suspect is in his 40s and was detained at the side of a Cheras street at about 12pm on Thursday (July 11).
“We seized 22.6kg of cannabis and 27.75g of erimin 5 from the suspect. We also seized RM3,000 cash and a car,” he said in a statement on Saturday (July 13).
ACP Ravindar Singh then added that further investigation led police to a condominium in Kajang.
“We seized 4.2kg of cannabis, a car and a MPV there. All the drugs are worth RM77,947,” he said.
He said the suspect was active in trafficking drugs since early this year and made a luxury condominium his storage area.
“We believe he got the drugs from dealers in the Klang Valley. The suspect did not have any prior criminal record but tested positive for benzodiazepine,” he said
ACP Ravindar Singh added that the suspect has been remanded until July 17.
