Officials in Kepala Batas have verified that two reports have been filed against Dr. Siti Mastura Muhammad, the town’s MP, in response to her allegations that the chairman of the Democratic Action Party (DAP), Lim Guan Eng, is related to Chin Peng, a leader of the Communist Party of Malaya (PKM).
Mohd Asri Shafie, the district police chief in Seberang Perai Utara (SPU), stated that one report was submitted by a group of individuals from the National DAP Veteran Club on November 11.
“Yes, I confirmed that SPU district police headquarters has received two reports so far. However, the statement will be recorded by the Bukit Aman Classified Crime Investigation Unit at their headquarters tomorrow,” he said when contacted by Bernama.
Prior to that, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain announced that the appointment to record the statement of the Penang PAS Dewan Muslimat (women’s wing) deputy chief had been rescheduled to 11 am Tuesday (Nov 14) at Bukit Aman.
Razarudin Husain mentioned that the police have received six reports about the case so far, and it is currently under investigation under Section 505(b) of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.
Allegedly, Siti Mastura made these claims during a 46-minute, 51-second video of a recent political talk in Kemaman, Terengganu, also implicating the veteran DAP leader Lim Kit Siang and other party leaders.
Last Friday (Nov 10), Guan Eng announced that he had taken legal action against Siti Mastura after the deadline she was given to substantiate her claims had passed the day before. – Bernama
