AMPANG: A man from Nepal was apprehended for trying to trespass into a homestay in Kampung Perwira Jaya Ampang Hilir. The homestay proprietor was alerted by his uncle, who witnessed a man attempting to enter the property around 1pm on Friday.
Assistant Commissioner Mohd Azam Ismail, of the Ampang Jaya district, reported that the owner arrived at the homestay at approximately 3pm and found the man inside the living room. “Upon discovering the intruder, the owner promptly contacted the authorities for assistance,” he said. A team of police officers responded to the call and detained the suspect, a Nepalese national, at around 3:05pm.
The suspect was unable to provide any form of identification, according to Ismail. “Furthermore, he tested negative for drugs. He will remain in custody until Tuesday for further questioning,” he stated.
The case is being probed under Section 448 of the Penal Code for trespassing, as well as Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act for lacking a valid permit.
