KUALA LUMPUR: Police seized RM9mill in drugs during anti-drug raids in the Klang Valley.

Bukit Aman Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (NCID) director Comm Datuk Khaw Kok Chin said a series of raids were conducted on July 10.

These raids led to two cases, with seizures of drugs valued at RM4mil and RM5.02mil respectively.

In the first case, over 100 packets of what is suspected to be syabu were found in a suspect’s car in the Desa Petaling area.

“The suspected drugs were estimated to weigh 126.18kg,” he said at a press conference at the police contingent headquarters here on Thursday (July 11).

The discovery led to the arrest of a second man at a home in Kuala Lumpur.

“We believe that the duo were working as a drug transporter and storekeeper,” he said.

The suspects, aged 37 and 43, have been remanded for seven days. Police records show one suspect had five prior narcotics-related offences.

“We believe they have been active since the middle of 2023. Their modus operandi includes smuggling the drugs from a neighbouring country via land before distributing it within the Klang Valley market,” he said.

In the second case, the police raided three locations, including two apartments in Cheras and Seri Kembangan.

Two men aged 22 were arrested then, with the police also locating two suspected drug storerooms.

One suspect was believed to be the storekeeper, and the other was thought to be a runner.

Drugs, including 9kg of ketamine, 165kg of methylenedioxy-methamphetamine (MDMA) and 1.6kg of cocaine, were seized.

The apartment units were not rented by the arrested suspect but by another syndicate member.

“This group is believed to have been active since three months ago,” he said.

Both suspects have also been remanded for seven days.
